How much can you have?

How much can you have?

Hello, everyone. I am back after a long time. I was preoccupied with a few things.

So, what is this post about?

As the title says, how much can you have? How much of anything could you have in this world?

You sit down at the dinner table. The table is arranged with more than 5 delicacies. How much of the food can you have?  Only as much as you can.

You visit the mall to do some shopping. How much can you buy? Only as much as your wallet can allow you to.

You are driving down the road and your fuel meter hits low. You visit the gas station. How much fuel can you have? Only as much as the capacity of your fuel tank.

These are just some known things that we face every day and no one gives a thought about it. I came across this quote while browsing the internet,
The ocean is huge but we can only have as much water as our hands can hold.
You can only have as much as you can or should have. The world is an ocean of things. But you can only have as much as you can hold onto. It applies not only to the material things but also to the immaterial things like your emotions, relations, love etc. Have as many friends as you want to, but towards the end, only the few that you could actually hold onto will stay. Similarly, you can wish to have all the happiness in the world, but you can only have what you can hold onto.

Anything in excess is also harmful to us. Excess of food, excess alcohol, excessive sunlight, excess cold etc. Every human being is different. And all of us have a different limit for everything. Some of these limits are set by oneself, some by the society and some are default by birth. The limits you have are your comfort zone. One never wants to cross their comfort zone unless they see a potential profit for themselves.
People like to walk in a drizzle but never in a thunderstorm.
We all like to have something more than what we can. But it is only what you deserve or what you can have that should actually matter to you. Too much love, too much hatred, too much patience, all these are harmful to us. You have to care only as much as the other person can take. You may have all the love in the world but can only give as much as one can take. When you try to do too much for anyone, it ends up being a thunderstorm for them, which would only drive them away.

We need to be happy in what we can have. It is not wrong to aim for something big. If you deserve it, you will have it. If you do not, maybe that is your limit for that thing. You could be entitled to have something different which might be out of your limits.

I know this post has been a stream of words that make no sense. But when I sit down to write something like this, the words just make no sense to anyone, not even to me. Then why do I write such stuff? Sometimes, it is good to let out what you have, to maintain peace. Inner peace. Everyone might not read it, but I can look back to this post in the future and remind me of what I had learned. That is the essence of writing or recording something of your past.

I guess that would be the end of this post.
