Ego = 1/Knowledge

Ego : A person's sense of self esteem or self importance
How would one react when their ego is hurt? Would you go all angry and violent? Or just let it go because you know what you are?

Bigg Boss in Telugu is a TV reality show just like Big Brother. I follow it regularly. Many people have a notion that it is all unwanted drama. But I see it as a social experiment. When you have nothing to do and need to live with a few other strangers for 100 days, is something of an experiment about human behavior.

There is a contestant in this season who is a human activist, atheist and many other things. There was a small disturbance last week where his ego was hurt. This made him react with anger to the situation. In my opinion and based on what was shown in the show,  he was superior to the other people in the house cause he had achieved so much in life and wanted to make a mark of it. He was later trolled a lot on social media by the tag international figure for what he spoke on the show.

This got me thinking, does the character of a person have any relation to the achievements he/she has in life? A person can have 10 noble prizes, but what if they are unpleasant? Is this justified?

Achievements are nothing if one doesn't have a good character. It doesn't matter if you are a doctor, a lawyer, or a street vendor, we all are humans. Life has a meaning if we can treat everyone with equal respect and don't belittle them for the state they are in. Everyone has their own struggle.

Late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, was one such great example. He was the 11th president of India, a rocket scientist and the project director of the first SLV mission undertook by ISRO. One of his famous quotes was,
 " Where there is righteousness in the heart, there is beauty in the character.
 When there is beauty in the character, there is harmony in the home.
When there is harmony in the home, there is order in the nation.
 When there is order in the nation, there is peace in the world."

At this current state of the world, all are becoming more and more critical and judgmental of each other. Fake news is spread like wildfire, but the real problems are never catered to. Bill Gates, the richest man in the world, he does a lot of charity work, but what if he passes by a beggar on the street without helping him out and it is caught on camera. People will be quick to judge him. "What will he do with all the money" they will say. Everything we do is judged, but everything is linked to the achievements too. Instead of Bill Gates, if it was a common person walking by, no one would bat an eye.

A kind-hearted person is going to be an asset to the society immaterial of their achievements. It is time that we differentiate a person's achievements from their character.
