What does nature believe in?

What would the world be like in the next 50 years? Will the world end? Will there be another mass extinction? How will human life change in the future? One might stumble upon these questions very rarely. Maybe when we see an article or a news extract showing us a few polar bears, with their visible skeleton. Ice caps have been melting near the poles, carbon level rising everyday, global warming. A scientist coming onto the news and giving us the information that the temperature of the earth has risen by 1 deg C doesn't make us glue our eyes to it. "Huge crowds have gathered for the premiere of a blockbuster movie",  " Maybe I should book the tickets for this". This is the general conscience. Human evolution per se. In our day-to-day life, these warnings are mostly taken for granted. True, I have been on that page as well. When I heard that an 11-year-old kid was responsible for huge protests across the world for a better future, I just shrugged off the whole point of it.

But why haven't been taking action? We are waiting for somebody else to do it for us. But even that is kind of a hard sale for the world we are in right now. The naivety of human beings struggling to survive. We are stuck in a loop, education, career, earn money, plan a secure future, etc. This has made us work and struggle to survive, to see another day. Why is it that 10% of the world population still exists in poverty [1]? Is it because there aren't enough resources for their survival? Or is it because they aren't able to earn enough to afford those resources?

What if I told you, the system of economies and money is just a belief of the human race? It is a universal belief among humans that money has a certain value to it [2]. If you wake up tomorrow and found out that we humans have stopped believing in it, would our lives still be the same? It might sound like I am being agnostic but bear with me. Did the first human beings on this planet have a belief in the economy? It would definitely be a NO. The early human beings were part of the ecosystem, they were living as hunters/food gatherers withing the ecosystem of nature.

I had to bring the above into this since any push towards sustainable living at this point is associated as expensive. Most of mankind wouldn't survive for too long if we switched to a fully sustainable way of living right away. Because of this same reason. It would only change if we pushed the huge corporations to move towards it. Nature does not believe in our economies. Nature doesn't care if we can afford it or not.  But nature has been giving us warnings that it is unable to afford our race for too long. It only believes in a sustainable existence. To put it in simple words, "If you take care of nature, it takes care of you".

I just wanted to give an analogy between nature and the human race. My intention is not to denounce the evolution, the wonderful things we have created, the whole economic beliefs, and not to impart the idea to go back to the stone age. It is time we rethink our priorities. It should be a selfish idealogy for the existence of the human race. Being the most intelligent species to ever exist, and evolution turned us to be above nature rather than with nature. Nature will go on, with or without us.

I would highly recommend watching the documentary by Sir David Attenborough, LIFE ON OUR PLANET. It is available on NETFLIX. It is an eye-opener to every one of us by somebody who has explored the lengths and breadths of the earth to present us what nature is. I wish to continue this post and try to put out my ideas towards a more sustainable future. Do follow and subscribe to the blogpost for more.
