Short Story

Formalities apart, I am trying to pitch in some new thoughts into my blog and came forward with a small story. Not really a love story, but I guess it happens with everyone. Hope you enjoy reading it. Feel free to drop in your thoughts or suggestions in the comments below.

It was a cold and sunny January day. A usual day to work, wake up at 10 in the morning, get ready and rush towards the bus stop trying to be on time. It was like a routine day and as always, waiting at the stop with the headphones on (trying to avoid unnecessary contact with people #introverts). The bus raced down the road and came to halt at our stop. Like every day, the lookout for the window seat was on, because #privacy. The bus then proceeded to the next stop. The ____ mind always searches for a known face in the crowd or maybe it just searches for the beauty in people. All covered in the winter wear, a known face (vice versa was not applicable) boarded the bus and was looking around for a seat. She looked around for a seat in the half-full bus and at the end took a vacant seat beside -- the main guy in the story (I guess you guessed it already). The guy - a shy, introverted and a mind full of fears. The girl - cute, not so innocent and looking for adventures.

She wanted to sit beside the guy even though there were a lot of empty seats. There was something interesting that caught her eye and wanted to see how it turns out. She wanted him to start a conversation and was waiting with no headphones (mind you these are very powerful to make one stop talking to us).
The guy, still with his headphones on couldn't have believed that the same person he was searching for before, was sitting next to him. His heart started jumping like a puppy that smelled a piece of tasty meat. "Should I start a conversation?' , "What would she think?" , " I'm just gonna pretend I do not care and listen to my music.", all these conversations going through his mind. He was scared to even look the other way, though he wanted to. Many fears were dawning upon him, "what if she doesn't respond?", "What if she feels embarrassed?".
The bus was halfway through its journey when the guy finally gathered the courage to try and strike a conversation. He plugged out his headphones, put them in his bag and was waiting for the right moment to start a conversation. The bus was waiting at a traffic signal when the guy turned towards her to say hi and to his awesome luck, her phone starts ringing.

THE END!

Do share your experiences as well, maybe we could write something like this together. Thank You
