At a Cross Road

At a Cross Road

Hello everyone. Another year is coming to an end, another year to look forward to. Time just flew by, as it always does. Everyone would ask at this time what our new year resolution would be? Why not just ask what were the moments you cherished or hated, who were the people you met for the first time and for the last time, what was that you started to like and started to hate and so on.

Every day we come across at least one crossroad. But did you ever just sit near a crossroad and observe? You would always see people taking the roads without thinking so much. Because they know the destination, so involuntarily they know which road to take. But did you ever stop at a crossroad not knowing where to go and just waited there to decide? Try doing that in the middle of the day, and people behind you get impatient. They start honking and you are forced to take a road that you might not have intended to take. Was it your choice? Maybe. But you would have had ample time to decide which road to take in the middle of the night for obvious reasons.

In life, we always end up at a crossroad. When you have to decide what course to take, what career to choose, which college you have to apply for, emotional decisions, who to marry etc. You can list out even the smallest decisions like what you want for breakfast. But few times, the situations and time urge you to choose any random thing from the options, just the way you're forced to take a random road due to impatient vehicles behind yours. But in life, there are some decisions that have to be taken up in the middle of the night when no one is there to force you. Life is just like at the crossroad, when you know the destination, you would not take even a second to decide which road to take. But when the destination is unknown, you have to think a lot to choose a road. Sometimes you may end up at the destination you want, and at times at a place much better than what you hoped for, and at times somewhere you do not want to be.

When you are trying so hard, many of them come to you and would say, ' just go with the flow'. What if I do not want to go with the flow, what if I do not want to go on the paved road but want to take up a rocky road? The paved road is what your mind urges you to take. It is the easy way out, even your consciousness knows it. The heart always wants what is difficult, like the rocky road. It just wants to be tossed around on the bumpy road. Time always gets you to a crossroad. It is always the struggle between the heart and mind to try to choose what fits best.

Once we pass through a difficult crossroad in life, the question is, would you have chosen the same road if you were to circle back to the same crossroad? Or would you choose the unknown over the known? Maybe we just have to live with the choice we made. The mind would again ask you to take the road you chose before, but the heart always wants what it cannot get.

Some of you ask me to write little long posts, but I prefer not to. Because I personally hate reading long posts 😂. Just go and sit in a cafe at a crossroad and observe different people. It may seem boring, but sometimes, a small thought could motivate you to write anything just the way I did.

Another important thing I would like to mention is the support that all of you have been showing. My blog has reached a total of 5000 views. One of my recent posts got a massive 625 views, which is really a great motivation for me. Thank you, everyone.
