Face to Face?

Hello, I am back with a few changes to my blog. You can clearly see that I have made changes to the background. The old one was kind of unprofessional (Some people suggested so). And I have also renamed my blog. SUSHI SPEAKS. Yes, sushi is food. I have tasted it once and I don't fancy it much. Sushi is my nick name that I have been used to for a few years. Here I am writing in Sushi speaks.

Face to Face?

In this digital age we rarely speak to each other these days. It is just a matter of texts or snaps that we keep sharing with others to communicate. I wonder how people used to communicate with each other before this era of mobile phones!
The other day I was discussing about the same with a friend. A friend who does not like to talk over the social media. That small conversation (which was over facebook though. IRONY!) got me thinking.
One way to convey yourself is through expressions and emotions. Texting is just a few words put together. Do they  show any kind of emotion? Do they convey any hard core emotions? One can argue that they have 'Emoticons', a form of expressions. Just for an added sense of humor, there is even a emoticon for shit.
A person may type something out of emotions and try to express somethings (Kind of what I am trying to do here). But there isn't a way these devices let you pass them over. When you someone you hate, it can be seen in the way you greet them. But over the phone, some emotions can be misinterpreted for anger and hatred.
Emotions and expressions are a part of communication. Without these,  it is just like writing your name on the beach sand. I personally never had an exciting childhood where. I never got a chance to meet and hang around with many people and talk to them. I was a victim of this digital age to make friends and to talk. I am used to it now. But I prefer conversations that happen face to face. The emotions , the feelings, the sense of someone's presence, everything makes it much more interesting.
You want to congratulate someone, meet them and say it, they deserve it . The same way, if you want to break up with your partner, just don't leave a text. At least they deserve the respect to be dumped on their face. It makes everything more emotional. It maybe a bad thing. But it will take you a long way in maintaining relations and making new ones.
I thank my friend to give me an idea to write this post. Texting, is a way of showing that you are a coward. Trying to hide yourself from the consequences of what life can bring. It may not be possible all the time to meet a person you want to talk to. But there is enough technology to have a video call with that person. What will you lose trying to be on the point and on the face. You may lose someone, but at least you will gain some self confidence and the strength to face any uncomfortable situation.

Just think of any instances in your life. Times when a phone call was better than a text, when talking to a person next to you would have changed few things over the past. If you ever had a fight with someone, just talk to them face to face, rather than trying to sort things out on texts. If you really miss someone, make a small video call. Let them know that you really miss them.

Emotions speak larger than words.
I guess this is one of my favorite quotes. Signing off with another philosophical post.
